Altered Items

I  should have taken a before picture of this. I'd picked it up at Target for cheap. It was pink and red and glittery. As much as I love pink and glitter, It wasn't what I wanted for this.

I used a little K&Co paper, some distress ink, a couple of velum butterflys, a bit of fiber. I'm much happier with it now.

These are a couple of tins. One is a mini Altoid container for me to carry an emergency dose of meds in. (Too many rushed mornings when I forget till I'm down the road.)

The other is a Godiva Chocolate Pearls tin. When I'm feeling flush, I'll grab a tin at Michael's checkout. (they aren't cheap, but I justify it by altering the tins, great little gift items)  Of course I have to eat all the pearls before I can alter a tin. Hey, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. Hubby will use this one to carry his toothpicks in.

The K's are small wooden letters, the paper by K&Co. Some edging that has been in my sewing box for over 25 years, and a bit of distress ink. I love making something out of nothing!

Tomorrow's Monday. Good luck, have a good week!

Following bloggers

If you read my post from several days ago, you know I wanted to follow the blogs of everyone who is participating In Julie's Art Journal Project. I had to give up on that idea. There are 270 people along for this little ride!

*Scatter faints away, gets up and brushes herself off, straightens clothing* I just went back to check, there are now 321!! If I followed everyone, I'd never have time to  journal.

I've been working on backgrounds for the last couple of days, nothing to post...yet.

I would like to share a bit of my daughters artwork. I turned her loose in the Scrap Cave and this is what she came up with. She's very talented.

The pictures don't do this justice!

Pod Podge

Ok, so it's only a Ipod wannabe, but it is podged!

Never have been one to leave things as they came, thanks to Amy at Mod Podge Rocks my personalized things are expanding.

My husband is always saying ' I'm still moving, I'm still moving' says I can't podge him as long as he's not sitting still!!

Well here's by new baby, ain't she cute?

Tip: make sure you have plenty of time to let the Dimensional Magic dry. I have to redo my phone, cause I rushed it!!

Have a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Tis the season to Mod Podge!

I'm addicted to my mod podge projects. This is a gift for my son who is impossible to shop for. My son is so hard to shop for, I think he'll like having something his grandfather made, and his mother altered. I've still got time, I may put a photo of him and his grandfather inside the cover.

Gingerbread house

I stole this idea from Fiskars site last night. They have some basic instructions there!

This started out as one of those little $1 birdhouses. I want a whole collection of these!!

Looking at these online now is giving me a flashback. When I was a kid (back in the covered wagon days) there was a little ice cream shop in Dennis, Massachusetts called The Gingerbread House. It looked very similar to this. It was just a little walk up stand, very small, but they had wonderful cones. Pistachio with jimmies, please!!

Letters from Home.

A little paper, some mod podge, and some 'stuff'.

D is for Dutch. S is for Scatter. I'm very happy with the D. I think I'll be adding to the S.

More Mod Podge Madness!!

I loved my little table so much, I had to make a little shelf that matched. I'll hang this over the table.

Mod Podge Madness

I think I'm addicted to Mod Podge. I've used it several times in the past. One day while blog hopping I came across a blog dedicated to it. I can get lost at Mod Podge Rocks. Amy has the most awesome projects.

I got inspired this weekend and came up with this. (Apparently I'm in my Bright Period.) I pidked the shelf up at a yard sale for $4.00. It was pretty sad looking.

Note to self: take before pictures!!
